Effect: Removes reflections and increases colour saturation without affecting the overall colour balance
Application: Nature, travel, outdoor photography
Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun. Filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approx. +1.3 stops). Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems without problems). This filter is specific to Cokin’s P Series filter holder and rotates within the holder.
Modular Hood Coupling Ring (A255/P255) (A308/P308)
Very useful, the Modular Hood can take a coupling ring on its outer edge
Shifting the filters away from the frontal lens makes new creative effects possible
The COKIN modular lens hood intensifies contrasts and eliminates unwanted reflections. It fits simply onto the filter-holder by just pressing on the upper and lower parts of the lens hood. You can attach several modular hoods to one another depending on the focal length of your lens. It is also a wonderful tool for more creativity.
